You do not connect Orison to your solar system, rather you plug it into the house circuit and then direct the solar energy into the house so you can store it locally on Orison. We use historical data combined with weather to set the charging times to closely match the generation times and output.
If you can monitor your production from your solar inverter, we can use that information to further define the schedule. You can also tweak your schedule or manage completely via the Orison mobile app. Orison does not currently provide for DC input so it will self-island when the grid goes down and will not allow reconnection unless load is present from the grid or in a microgrid situation. A hard wired option is in the works and will come on the heels of the first plug-and-play models.
